Free Initial Consultations for Farmers
Considering a planning application for conversion of a barn or extension to a house can be daunting, especially when there are often unseen costs including ecological surveys for bats.
All UK bats are protected by legislation and bat surveys are usually required for barn conversions, but having heard exaggerated and negative stories about bats many farmers are very wary and believe that bats will stop development in its tracks or cost too much. At AVA Ecology we always take a pragmatic and sensible approach to bat surveys and always work hard to ensure we get the best for our farming clients. We also have an excellent track record and have never had a planning application refused.
Coming from a farming background we understand the connection between agriculture and wildlife in Monmouthshire and the issues and stresses farmers face when trying to diversify into new ventures or improving buildings.
Farmers are key to the protection of wildlife in the UK, we recognise that and we want to help.
In 2016 we were able to help farmers on the Glas Tir Scheme by carrying on free initial consultations which helped to ensure that barns were re-roofed without costing the earth.
So, for 2017 we have extended our service to include free initial consultation to all active farms in Monmouthshire. If you are thinking about planning a barn conversion or extension give us a call, we will help you save money and time
